A New Year's mantel has one job: tell the time. A large round clock leans in the center. The rest is silver and soft gold, with eucalyptus woven with tiny fairy lights, ornaments in two clusters, and three mercury-glass candle holders at each end.
It is the same mantel that held the Christmas garland a week earlier, edited down.

Designer's Notes
Installation
Lean the clock first and build outward. Weave the fairy-light wire into the eucalyptus stems so no wire shows.
Light
Fairy lights and candle holders only. A single lamp nearby keeps the marble from going grey.
Budget
Tier I (Under $300): about $220 for everything on the list below at today's prices.
