A deep front garden is a stage with a long throw. We light it in layers. A clump of birches wrapped in warm lights is the centerpiece on the right. Two lit deer graze on the left, two small spiral trees stand by the door, and the house's own windows sit at the back.
The tall evergreens at the corners stay dark. Leaving something unlit is how a garden looks deep.
The Plan
- 1Lit birch clump. A clump of white birch stems wrapped in warm white lights, on the right lawn.
- 2Lit deer. A standing pair, angled toward each other.
- 3Spiral trees. Two by the walk near the door.
- 4Corner evergreens. Left dark on purpose; they hold the edges of the picture.
- 5Power and timing. One outdoor power stake by the front step on a timer feeds the whole lawn.
